Premier Soccer League Overview
The Tunisian is confident that Amakhosi will perform well in their midweek match against Usuthu.
Amakhosi are chasing their second win. Nabi will be leading the team against Usuthu on Wednesday. The Tunisian shares his opinion about the game.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Kaizer Chiefs will be at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban to play AmaZulu in the Premier Soccer League outing. Their last game was on Saturday, September 14, against Marumo Gallants, a game they won 2-1, giving Nasreddine Nabi a strong start.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Nabi and Franco Martin are familiar with each other, having faced off in Tanzania where Martin coached Simba SC and Nabi led Young Africans SC. Ahead of the match, Martin mentioned he knows Nabi well, but Nabi chose to focus on his team’s preparations for another win.
WHAT NABI SAID
“Our preparation has been good. We have watched the previous game of our opponents, AmaZulu, and analyzed their strengths and weaknesses,” Nabi told the club’s media team.
“The turnaround times between matches can present challenges. If you have more than a week’s rest between games, you can lose something, but our fitness coaches have been working hard to get the players in the best possible shape to perform at a high level.”
“I know [Martin]; he is my friend. In Tanzania, he was one of the best coaches, and I respect his ability, so we will see how it turns out. I hope everyone will enjoy the contest,” he concluded.
WHAT NEXT?
Chiefs need this win to boost their confidence ahead of a high-profile fixture this weekend against the defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns. The Brazilians are on a winning streak, having won their last four games across all competitions after a rocky start to the domestic campaign.
